Is traditional Bavarian dress mandatory?
We know that owning a Dirndl or a pair of Lederhosen might be slightly uncommon in other parts of the world. Not every wardrobe in New York, Tokyo, or Cape Town comes with a dedicated Oktoberfest section — and that’s perfectly fine. If you’re visiting and traditional Bavarian attire isn’t exactly hanging in your closet, we’re happy to make reasonable exceptions — especially if you bring a big smile and great energy.
That said, traditional dress is a key part of the Spreewiesn atmosphere and what makes the celebration so special. We’re proud to have one of the highest “Dirndl densities” in Berlin. Dirndl, Lederhosen, checkered shirts, traditional jackets (Janker), and similar Alpine-inspired outfits are strongly encouraged and generally expected. At the very least, there should be a visible effort to embrace the Bavarian spirit.
If an outfit clearly does not match the event’s atmosphere, we reserve the right to deny entry. Refunds cannot be provided in such cases.
Some guests from our group arrive later – is that possible?
Yes, no problem.
In exchange for the 10-person ticket, we will issue counter cards at the entrance for late arrivals. Depending on the situation, we can hold them at the entrance or you may hand them over personally.
